Dr. Callaway

Veterinarian

Dr. Callaway grew up in Kansas City and always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She started as a kennel worker at her local animal hospital during high school and over the years always found herself back at that clinic during any school break filling in and searching for opportunities to learn something new.

She started her undergraduate degree at the University of Missouri- Columbia majoring in Animal Science. After being admitted to the Pre-Vet Scholars program she was granted early admission to the University of Missouri- Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine starting just after her junior year.

During vet school she served as chair of the Zoo and Exotic Medicine Club, cared for the injured wild birds in the Raptor Rehab program, and worked overnights in the Equine ICU. During her second year of vet school she was also a teaching assistant for the freshman veterinary anatomy class.

She graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2009 and moved to St. Peters with her husband where her career began at the Animal Emergency Clinic. After 4 years of ER experience she moved to the Animal Medical Center of Mid- America working closely with the Humane Society of Missouri. This is where Dr. Callaway and Dr. McManus first started working together in 2013.

Dr. Callaway then moved to The Pet Doctor just a few months after Dr. McManus in 2017 where they continued to grow as doctors and gain a deeper understanding of the unique open client communication approach and high quality medicine they both share.

In 2024, after working together for over 10 years, they opened O’Fallon Animal Hospital as partners where they focus on transparent medicine, a high standard of care and enjoying the crazy fun life that is Vet Med!

Dr. Callaway’s professional interests are emergency medicine, diagnostic imaging, surgery and internal medicine.

She lives with her husband, 3 kids, 2 dogs (Frenchies names Reginald and Archibald) and a bearded dragon named Bowser. She enjoys spending time with family, weekends in the pool and coffee on the porch.
